Celeo has presented its Sustainability Report for the 2024 financial year, a document that includes the company’s main advances in environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters, as well as its economic performance and its contribution to the development of sustainable energy infrastructures in Spain, Brazil, Chile and Peru. In a year marked by the complexity of the markets and the evolution of the regulatory framework, the group has consolidated its position in the electricity transmission and renewable generation sectors, closing the year with a net profit of 25.9 million euros and a generation of more than 635,000 MWh of clean energy.
The report details the strategic milestones achieved by Celeo during 2024, including the commissioning of key projects such as the Xingó-Camaçari II and Marimbondo II-Campinas lines in Brazil, or the Puerto Maldonado-Iberia line in Peru, which have contributed to expanding the company’s international presence and strengthening its role in promoting more resilient and sustainable electricity systems.
A year of great achievements
One of the most significant achievements this year was Celeo’s participation for the first time as a group in the GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) index, one of the leading global ESG performance assessment platforms. In this first consolidatedassessment, the group obtained an outstanding score of 92 out of 100, a result that reflects the maturity of its sustainability strategy and its ability to align its operations with the highest international standards in corporate governance, environmental management and social commitment.
In the environmental sphere, Celeo’s operations enabled it to avoid the emission of more than 226,000 tonnes of CO₂ into the atmosphere, thanks to its renewable energy generation activity. The company also carried out voluntary ecological restoration actions, including the reforestation of 40 hectares in Brazil, reinforcing its contribution to the conservation of the natural environment.
Social commitment, a key player
Social commitment has also been one of the group’s priorities during 2024. Celeo developed community action programmes in all the geographies in which it operates, adapted to local needs and focused on improving social well-being. In Chile, it promoted environmental education initiatives; in Spain, it collaborated with projects focused on energy efficiency; and in Brazil, it promoted cultural preservation actions with indigenous communities. These initiatives are part of its social responsibility policy, based on the creation of shared value and constant dialogue with its stakeholders.
In of governance and compliance, the report highlights the achievement of ISO 37001 (anti-bribery management system) and UNE 19601 (criminal compliance management system) certifications in Spain and Peru, which reinforces the group’s commitment to integrity, business ethics and transparency in all its processes.
“This document reflects our commitment to sustainability, innovation and the creation of long-term value.” – stated Miguel Morenés Giles, Chairman of the Board of Directors. – “We are proud of the progress we have made and remain focused on driving a just and inclusive energy transition.”
